The Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland (ALCI) was founded in 1971 as a representative body for the landscape sector.
From its inception it has endeavoured to improve the quality and standards in the landscape industry in Ireland. ALCI has two regional offices, the Northern Region and Southern Region.
ALCI is the leading professional body for landscape contractors in Ireland with over 150 members across both regions.

Member Duties and Expectations

Maintaining Public and Professional Confidence
The underlying principle is that public and professional confidence in the service provided by members of the Association shall be enhanced and that no member shall conduct himself in such a way that the member, Association, or the industry is brought into disrepute.

Accountability for Staff and Sub-Contractors
A member shall be held responsible for the acts of his staff and sub-contractors, in so far as they relate to the scope of the Association.

Upholding Industry Standards and Advancing Knowledge
Every member shall uphold the standing of the industry and the Association’s members shall strive to add to the increasing knowledge of landscaping and related topics to the benefit of the Association.

Working Within Competence and Ensuring Staff Training
A member shall perform only those services, which are within the member’s competence. Staff shall be trained and well supervised to ensure all contracts are undertaken in accordance with the specification and good practice.

05.
Maintaining Adequate Insurance Cover
Adequate insurance cover shall be maintained for all normal risks affecting the client, the public and the member’s employees.

06.
Reporting Violations Confidentially
Any member having evidence of the violation of the code by another member may present information by means of a letter marked confidential to the regional secretary.

Maintaining Satisfactory Standards of Performance
The maintenance of satisfactory standards of performance, which may be subject to inspection at anytime by representatives, approved by the ALCI.

Regular Payment of Membership Subscriptions
The regular payment of the annual subscription.
